Lunch
A light lunch is provided at the Halls on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
No charge is made for this, but donations are encouraged.
The 'Out and About' group on Tuesdays usually includes lunch at a suitable venue, e.g. cafe, paid for by the individual.
Health Walk
This is every week. We meet at the Botanic Garden (Canongate entrance) at 11 am or the Halls at 10.30 am.
Transport to/from the garden is available.
There is a choice of walk – easy or moderate, plenty of seating, and is suitable for those using a walking aid (e.g. rollator).
Out and About
This takes place every Tuesday.
Most weeks we meet at the Halls at 11 am for tea or coffee before heading out.
The places we visit include museums and other local places of interest, coastal or woodland walks.
We usually have lunch out, paid for by the individual.
On the first Tuesday of each month we meet at about 1 pm for tea or coffee, and then go to the R&A World Golf Museum
in St Andrews for a session led by one of the staff there.
Armchair exercises
One of our regular volunteers leads these excercises which are accompanied by music and include action songs.
Hands-On History
This is led by Dr Alison Hadfield who recently was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of St Andrews for her work 'In touch with the past: a sensory approach to objects, memory and wellbeing'. She brings a range of historical objects for clients to see and handle.
Dementia Meeting Centre
Our Friday session is for people with dementia and their carers in association with Meeting Centres Scotland
(except for once a month with The Liltin Lassies when all are welcome).
Musical Memories with The Liltin Lassies
On the second Friday of each month The Liltin Lassies lead a range of songs and readings with a mainly Scottish theme, and encourage enthusiastic participation with various percussion instruments.
Alzheimer Scotland
On the second Monday of each month a member of staff from Alzheimer Scotland joins the morning's walk and then leads the afternoon group with various activities such as quizzes and musical bingo.
